Lets Assume,

 

There is a Room – A

Whose floor Dimensions 

 

Length = 5.0 meter

 

and

                         

Breath = 4.0 Meter

 

and,

     

Size of each Floor tile = 12’’X 12’’

 

Solution

 

A).  Area of following:-

 

(i).  Total Floor Area  = Length X Breadth

 

                                         = 5.0 x 4.0

 

                                         = 20.0 square meter

 

 

 (ii). Size of each floor tiles  = 12’’ x 12’’

 

 So,

 

Area of 1 Tile = 12″ x 12″

 

                         = 144 inch square

         

Now,

 

How to Calculate Required No. Of Tiles

So,

 

First of all convert the inch square dimension in meter square

 

And you know,

 

1 meter = 39.37’’

 

=   144 Square inch / 39.37 square meter

 

=     0.0929 meter square

 

(iii). No. of Required tiles for flooring

                            

=  Total Floor Area / Area of each tiles

 

=   20.0 / 0.0929

  

=   215.28 Nos. ( Approx ).

 

               or

 

 Equal to  216 Tiles.
