Vertical Steel Bar Calculation

For 20mm dia. bar

 

=300 + ( 1200 – 50 –20 – 20 ) + 600 + 450 + 3000 + 450 + Overlapping length – Bends

                                      

 = 300 + 1110 + 600 +450 + 3000 + 450 + 50d – ( 1 x 2d )

 

= 5910 + 1000 – ( 2 x 20 )

 

 = 6910 – 40 = 6870 mm

 

 = 6.87m

 

Total no. of 20 mm bar = 4Nos.

Then, total length of 20 mm bar = 4 x 6.87 = 27.48 m

 

Weight of Steel = D x D /162 x L

 

                              = 20 x 20 /162 x 27.48

                              

                               = 67.85 kg

For 16 mm dia. bar

 

= 300 + ( 1200 – 50 – 20 ) + 600 + 450

 

  + 3000 + 450 + 50d – (1 x 2d )

                                      

    =  5930 + (50 x 16 )– ( 2 x 16 )

 

    = 5930 +800 – 32 = 6698mm

 

    = 6.698m

 

Total no. of 16 mm bar = 2Nos.

Then, total length of 16 mm bar = 2 x 6.698 = 13.396m

 

Weight of Steel = D x D /162 x L

 

                            = 16 x 16 /162 x 13.396

                              

                            = 21.16 kg

 

Stirrups  Bar Calculation

Column Size  = (500 x 230 )mm

 

 Clear Cover = 25mm

 

A = 500 – 25- 25 – 5 – 5 = 440 mm

 

B = 230 – 25- 25- 5 – 5 = 170 mm

 

Total  Length = 2 x (440 + 170 ) + 20 d ( hook 10 d + 10 d )

 

=  2 x 610 + ( 20 x 10 ) = 1220 + 200

 

Total Length = 1420 mm

 

Bend Deduction Length

For 135 * bends = 2 x ( 3 x d )

 

                          = 2 x ( 3 x 10 ) = 60 mm

 

For 90* bend = 3 x ( 2 x d )

 

                          = 3 x ( 2 x 10 ) = 60mm

 

Total Bend deduction length = 60 + 60 = 120mm

 

Cutting Length of Stirrups = 1420 – 120

 

                                                   = 1300 mm or 1.3 m

= Length/Spacing  + 1

 

= 1200 – 50 – 20 – 20 – 20 + 600

 

= 1690/150 + 1 = 12 nos.

 

No. of stirrups in Zone – A ( Lower part )-

                   

= Length/Spacing  + 1

 

= 500/75 + 1 = 7 nos.

 

No. of stirrups in Zone – B ( Middle part )-

                   

            = Length/Spacing  + 1

 

= 2000/150 – 1 = 14 nos.

 

No. of stirrups in Zone – A ( Upper part )-

 

= Length/Spacing  + 1

 

= 500/75 + 1 = 7 nos.

 

Total Length Of Stirrups

Total no. Of Stirrups in Column = 12 + 7 + 14 + 7

 

= 40 Nos.

 

Total Length of stirrups bars in Column = 1.3 x 40 = 52 m

 

Total Weight Of Steel in Column

 

Weight of Steel = D x D / 162 x l

 

= 10 x 10 /162 x 52 = 32.09 kg

 

Wt. of 20 mm dia bar      = 67.85 kg

 

Wt. of 16mm dia bar       = 21.16kg

 

Total weight of stirrups = 32.09 kg

 

Total Wt. of Column =  67.85 + 21.16 + 32.09

 

                                       =  121.1 kg
