1000Sqft House Plinth Beam Cost in 2023
Introduction
A plinth beam is a reinforced concrete beam that is constructed at the ground level of a building. It runs along the entire perimeter of the structure, connecting and providing stability to the individual columns or footings.
Plinth beams are an integral part of the structure and are essential for ensuring stability, preventing settlement issues, and load transfer, and maintaining the overall integrity of the structure.
The purpose of a plinth beam is to distribute the load of the superstructure evenly to the foundation. It acts as a load-bearing element, transferring the vertical loads from the walls and columns to the foundation, while also resisting any lateral forces such as earthquakes or wind force
A 1000sqft House Plinth Beam Cost is about Rs.110720.
How To Find 1000Sqft House Plinth Beam Cost
1000sqft House Plinth Beam Cost can vary depending on several factors such as the location, materials used, labor costs, and specific design requirements. Additionally, prices can vary from one region to another.
To get the 1000sqft House Plinth Beam Cost we need to find the individual costs of materials, labor, and other additional charges.
1). Material Costs – The cost of materials for the plinth beam, including reinforcement steel bars, cement, sand, and aggregate.
2). Labor Costs – The cost of hiring skilled labor to construct the plinth beam. This can vary depending on the local labor rates and the complexity of the design.
3). Additional Costs – Miscellaneous costs such as transportation of materials, scaffolding, and equipment rental, if required.
Calculation of 1000sqft House Plinth Beam Cost
For the calculation of the cost of a 1000 sq ft house plinth beam, first, we find the total volume of the plinth beam.
In the figure, we take a 1000 sq ft plinth area that contains six rooms, and each room is 12 ft. × 12 ft. in size. The cross-section area of plinth beams is 1 ft × 1 ft.
Calculation of volume
Here total plinth area is
25 × 40 = 1000 sq ft.
The total length of the plinth beam
L = ( 3 × 40 + 4 × 22 )
L = 208 Rft
B = 1 ft
D = 1 ft
The total volume of concrete required will be –
V = L × B × D
= 208 × 1 × 1
= 208 Cft
Dry vol. of concrete = 208 × 1.54 320.32 Cft
Converting in cum
We know 1 cum = 35.3147 Cft.
321 Cft = 9.08 cum.
Calculation of Material Cost.
For the calculation of the material cost of a 1000 sq ft house plinth beam, we need the analysis of quantity and rate of each material required like – cement, sand, aggregate, steel, etc.
The density of concrete is 1440 kg. per cum
Considering M 20 mix ratio 1: 1.5 : 3 ( cement: sand: aggregate )
(A) Cement cost.
Part of cement/sum of ratio × dry concrete volume × concrete density
= 1/ 5.5 × 9.08 ×1440
= 2377 kg.
No. of bag = 2377/ 50 = 47.5 bags.
Take 48 bags of cement. The cost of cement
= 48 × 400 = Rs. 19200
(B) Sand cost
Part of sand/sum of ratio × dry vol. of concrete
= 1.5/ 505 × 321
= 87. 54 Cft
The price of sand varies between Rs. 20 to Rs. 60 according to the location to location and availability of sand
Here we take the average price of Rs. 45 per Cft.
The cost of sand = 87.54 × 45 = Rs. 3940
(C) Aggregate cost.
Part of aggregate/sum of ratio × dry vol. of concrete.
= 3/ 5.5 × 321 = 175 cft.
The price of aggregate varies between Rs. 40 to 80 according to location and availability of aggregate
Here we take an average rate of Rs. 60 per Cft.
The cost of aggregate = 175 × 60
= Rs. 10500
The total cost of concrete material
= 19200 + 3940 + 10500
= Rs. 33640
(D) Steel cost.
Steel is required 1.75% of the total volume of concrete.
The rate of steel reinforcement in the market is about Rs. 70 per kg.
Here the volume of concrete = 208 Cft = 5.89 cum.
The weight of steel reinforcement required
= Total vol. of concrete × percentage vol. of steel × density of steel.
= 5.89 × × 7850
= 809.123 kg. , take 810 kg.
Cost of steel = 810 × 70
= Rs. 56700
Total material cost equal to
Concrete cost + steel cost
= 33640 + 56700
= Rs. 90340
Calculation of Shuttering Cost
Shuttering required is 2 times more than the total length of the plinth beam
Quantity of shuttering = 416 sq ft
Shuttering rate varies from Rs. 15 to Rs. 20 per sq ft
Here we consider the maximum shuttering rate = Rs. 20 per sq ft
Then shuttering cost = 416 × 20
= Rs. 8320
Calculation of Labor Cost.
(A) Steel labor cost
The steel labor rate is Rs. 8 to 10 per kg.
The cost of steel labor = 810 × 10
= Rs. 8100
(B) Concrete pouting labor cost
The concrete pouring labor rate is Rs. 15 to 20 per sq ft
Concrete pouring labor cost = Quantity of concrete × labor rate
= 208 × 20 = Rs. 4160
Total labor cost = 8100 + 4160
= Rs. 12060
Now, the total cost of a 1000 sq ft house plinth beam equal to
Material cost + shuttering + labor cost
90340 + 8320 + 12060
= Rs.110720
So, the total cost of a 1000 sq ft house plinth beam is about Rs.110720 in 2023
